01. SHOULD YOU ELOPE?

Deciding whether to elope or have a traditional wedding is a deeply personal choice and depends on who you are as a person and what you envision for your special day. If you’re someone who values intimacy, adventure, and the freedom to make spontaneous decisions, eloping might be the perfect option for you! Imagine exchanging vows in a secluded, picturesque location with just the two of you (and maybe a photographer to capture the moment). Eloping can be less stressful and more budget-friendly than a traditional wedding, allowing you to focus entirely on each other and the commitment you're making. It's an opportunity to create a deeply personal and unique experience that reflects your relationship without the pressures of hosting a large event.

On the other hand, if you’ve always dreamed of celebrating your wedding surrounded by family and friends, sharing the joy and love with those closest to you, a traditional wedding might be more your style. Consider who you imagine at your wedding: if you can't picture your day without your loved ones there, then eloping might not be the best fit.

Ultimately, the decision to elope or not should reflect your personalities, values, and what you both want for your wedding day. Whether you choose an intimate elopement or a grand celebration, the most important thing is that it feels right for you as a couple.

02. PICK A LOCATION

Choosing a location is about finding a place that speaks to both of you and sets the stage for a beautiful, memorable day. Reflect on your style and preferences, considering places that hold special meaning to you as a couple and the type of scenery you envision, whether it's a beach at sunset, a lush forest, a vibrant cityscape, or a historic venue. Ensure the location is accessible and practical for travel, accommodations, and local amenities, and check for any necessary permits or regulations. Picture how the location will look in your photos and think about the experience it will offer your guests. At the end of the day, trust your instincts and choose a place that feels like a natural extension of your relationship. Whether it's an intimate elopement spot or a grand wedding venue, the right location will make your celebration truly special.

03. SEASON & TIMELINE

Choosing the right season and timeline for your wedding is crucial for capturing the best photographs and ensuring a smooth, enjoyable day from a photographer's perspective. Consider the unique qualities each season offers: spring brings blooming flowers and soft light, ideal for romantic portraits; summer offers long days and vibrant colors, perfect for outdoor celebrations; fall provides rich, warm tones and picturesque foliage; winter brings a cozy atmosphere and the potential for magical snowscapes.

From a logistical standpoint, think about the timeline of your day. A well-planned timeline allows for ample time for getting ready shots, capturing intimate moments before the ceremony, and taking advantage of the best natural light throughout the day. Consider factors such as sunset times, travel between locations, and any special moments you want to prioritize for photography.

04. GUEST LIST

When putting together your guest list, remember that this is your special day, and your vision matters most. Whether you want a big celebration or an intimate gathering, prioritize the people who bring joy and support to your life. There's no right or wrong way to do it—invite those who will make your day memorable and meaningful. Trust your instincts and create a guest list that reflects your unique journey as a couple.

05. LOGISTICS

When planning the logistics of your wedding, organization is key. Start by setting a timeline for the big day and outlining essential details, from ceremony timing to reception flow. Consider practical aspects like transportation, accommodations for out-of-town guests, and vendor coordination. Communicate clearly with your wedding party and vendors to ensure everyone is on the same page. Engaging professionals like photographers, wedding planners, and coordinators can significantly reduce stress and keep everything running smoothly, allowing you to focus on enjoying every moment. No matter what happens, remember that this day is about celebrating your love and cherishing the special moments with your loved ones.

06. LEGAL DETAILS

When working with me as your photographer, it’s important to understand that I use a contract to outline the terms of our agreement. This helps ensure that both you and I are clear on the services provided, timelines, and any specific details you want for your wedding photos. The contract is designed to protect both parties and make sure that everything runs smoothly on your special day. I also want to ensure that my work aligns with your vision, so we'll have a discussion before the wedding to plan and make sure every detail is covered. My goal is to capture your day in a way that truly reflects your unique story and style.
